Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller's latest environment celebrates its European premiere at the Lehmbruck Museum. Visitors enter the darkened “Escape Room” through a plain door. Like trailblazers, they wander through the abandoned interior, triggering soundtracks and lights with their movements. The interactive installation, which was created during the Corona pandemic, finds a haunting form for the isolation and loneliness that was omnipresent during this time. The richly filled escape room is at the same time an offer to the senses and the imagination of the visitors to imagine their own worlds far away from the everyday.
