Families and children

We place great emphasis on being a family-friendly museum. It's up to you whether you visit us as a family - or your children choose to explore the museum for themselves. Either way, we offer a variety of opportunities: Everybody is welcome at the CITY ATELIER, where you can try out various techniques and materials together with artists - there are no age restrictions and you don't need to register in advance. For children, there are multi-day holiday workshops, and younger art fans can even hold their birtday parties here. At "Youth meets art", meanwhile, young people can get together and decide what they want to do for themselves.

Children's parties at Lehmbruck Museum – the joy of creativity

Children aged between 6 and 13 can celebrate their birthdays with us. Art and fun are guaranteed with museum rallies, thrilling stories about art and, most importantly, creativity in the surroundings of our collection. With paint, clay, wood, talc or wire, children work with art professionals to create their own works, which they can then take home with them.

A birthday party at the museum with up to 15 people lasts for two hours. There is also the option of booking children's birthday parties lasting 150 minutes, including time for some small refreshments.

Cost: Birthday party (15 people, 120 minutes): EUR 130, Birthday party (15 people, 150 minutes, with party table and decorations): EUR 150
